Weren't them the same thing before?
That's a very good question!
After receiving a lot of feedback regarding pain points from users who wanted to use SOUNDRAW generated tracks for all kinds of different scenarios, we decided to split these use cases between two different plans:
The Creator Plan is focused more on video and non-music content production. This is perfect if you want to use SOUNDRAW tracks only as background to your podcast, narrated video, movie, and many more! If you are under the Creator Plan, you can easily generate, adjust, and download SOUNDRAW-generated songs and upload them to your content without modifications.
The new Artist Plan, on the other hand, allows you to distribute and monetize the music itself, provided that you make modifications to it by adding your own unique twists and turns, such as including your vocals, recording a new instrument, etc. This is perfect if you are a music producer, artist, or someone who is focused on the music first.
Also, if you use our songs for background music of videos, you can use them if you own the videos. If not, you need to subscribe to the creator plan as well.
This is because those 2 plans have different licenses and if you wish to use it for both purposes, you will need to subscribe to both plans.
Side note:
The license before August 15th, 2023 gave you permission to modify songs and distribute or sell them. Those terms remain the same for users whose subscriptions started before August 15th, 2023.
Note that if you cancel a subscription that started before August 15th, 2023, and subscribe again, you will have to follow the terms of our new license.
